McDonald's Secret Menu: revealed on NPR

The McChronicles just read an interesting article on npr.org regarding a secret McDonald's menu, known only to insiders. This article focused on only one of many alleged secret menu items.

With a little digging, The McChronicles uncovered a list of secret items from several fast food proprietors.
This image, from this site, depicts (from left to right): Monster Mac(8 beef patties!), Grilled Cheese, McGangBang(a double cheeseburger with a chicken patty in between the two beef patties).

Other interesting secret menu item names include (follow the link, above, to see more):
  • McLeprichon (sic)
  • McKinley Mac
  • Pie McFlurry

The questions are:

To McDonald's crew: are these "real" secret menu items, or are they just things customers have made up - calling them secret menu items?

To customers: are you familiar with any of these items (listed at the 2nd link above)? And do you know of any others?

  1. in the list I've found the following item "Coke Float - Any size of coke with ice cream. You can even get it with chocolate ice cream."

In Indonesia this a menu item at McDonald's

  2. I've eaten the Mc1035--I documented it on my blog. It was delicious but would have been better without the burger condiments.

  3. All of these items are familiar to me, a McDonald's crew member of 2 years. I don't think the company made these up, but what I think happened is that crew people get bored and make up new stuff. You get tired of eating the same thing every day, so you just start experimenting. And I'm sure one person told someone else who told someone else, and now it's almost not a secret anymore.

I'd love for the grilled cheese to be on the menu. So many parents order it in happy meals, and it is tedious to type everything off the burger.

We've got the All American meals at our store even though they're not on the menu. But it doesn't mean anything in regards to the toppings. Its just a hamburger or cheeseburger with a small fry and small drink. The All American is the adult happy meal.

We've also got the 2 Cheese Burger Meal Mac, but just call it the two cheese burger meal. It replaced the Big and Tasty on our menu.

I've been working at McDonalds for a couple of years and I've never heard about any of those, although I'm in the Midwest.

We do have our own little things we do, because like someone said before, we do get bored of eating the same thing over and over.

We make BBQ chicken "wings". We take a lot of Selects and a lot of either Chipotle BBQ or Buffalo sauce, shake it all around in a box and then place them in the pie oven and when they come out, dip them in rance sauce.

And then we have an Ogre drink for when we got Shrek toys. Half a cup of Sprite and then add Hi-C and blue Powerade till it turns Ogre green.

  12. NO WAY!? A Monster Mac - A big Mac composed of 8 meat patties?! Which McDonalds sold that that's crazy! haha they truly are making our culture so healthy! Although I probably would have to attempt to eat the Monster Mac just to say I did it, and the McGangBang looks quite disgusting, but hilarious at the same time!

I'm a crew member in Canada, and up here we have the grilled cheese and two cheese burger meal as a regular part of our menu (although the grilled cheese isn't made on a burger bun - the buns are flat and look like the middle bun on a Big Mac). We also have the Junior Chicken, which I don't think exists in the States (kind of like a mini McChicken I suppose).
As for the "secret" menu items, they're not really official. So, if someone came and ordered a "McKinely Mac" or something, chances are the staff wouldn't know what they're talking about and the customer would have to explain. The one that I do know about is the "McTrigger" - a Junior Chicken inside of a McDouble. Most of the time people just order a Junior and a McDouble and don't really expect us to know what a McTrigger is, but we can guess what they plan on doing!
Also, I really want a Monster Mac now...Although I suppose it would be quite expensive with all the extra patties!

  15. Thanks, Anonymous. Interesting info. Never heard of the McTrigger before. Cool.

In Canada we have the McXplosion. Like the Mc1035, it is only possible during the transition from breakfast to lunch (which up here is 11am). It consists of 4 Breakfast Burritos (two on the top and two on the bottom) used as the 'buns' on a Double Quarter Pounder with extra cheese.

I'm an ex McDonald's Manager, and we have the McGangBang. It got so popular in town, we started to promote it because it we made more money off of up-selling those than whatever our corporate up-sell item was (I think it was the pumpkin pies) Alas, we weren't allowed to call them "McGangBangs" because McDonald's is a "family restaurant"

"Girl, did you come in wit no shirt on?!"
    "Put those titties away!"

    Yeah, family restaurant >_>

Anyway, we had to call them "Spicy-Doubles" which, I have to say, took the fun out of the whole thing...

I'M NOW FULFILL FINANCIALLY BECAUSE OF THE LOAN I GOT FROM LFDS .I would like to bring this to the notice of the public about how i came in contact with LFDS after i lost my job and being denied loan by my bank and other financial institution due to my credit score. I could not pay my children's fees. I was behind on bills, about to be thrown out of the house due to my inability to pay my rent, It was during this period my kids were taken from me by foster care. Then i set out to seek for funds online where i lost $3,670 that i borrowed from friends which i was rip off by two online loan companies. Until i read about:Le_Meridian Funding Service  (lfdsloans@outlook.com / lfdsloans@lemeridianfds.com) somewhere on the internet, Still wasn't convince because of what i have been through until a relative of mine who is a clergy also told me about the ongoing loan scheme of LFDS at a very low interest rate of 1.9%% and lovely repayment terms without penalty for default of payment. I have no choice than to also contact them which i did through text +1-989-394-3740 and Mr Benjamin responded back to me That day was the I'M best and greatest day of my life which can never be forgotten when i receive a credit alert of $400,000.00 Usd loan amount i applied for. I utilized the loan effectively to pay up my debts and to start up a business and today i and my kids are so happy and fulfill. You can as well contact them through email: (lfdsloans@outlook.com / lfdsloans@lemeridianfds.com)  WhatsApptext  helpline: +1-989-394-3740 Why am i doing this? I am doing this to save as many that are in need of a loan not to be victim of scams on the internet. Thanks and God bless you all, I'm Oleksander Artem from Horizon Park BC , Ukrain.
